Busy...Busy...Busy

Hello Everyone:

Well we made it to Nova Scotia to a campground called Hubbards, which is just about 25 minutes outside of Halifax.  It was very close camping, so the only thing to do was to go and meet your neighbours.  We were lucky to have a great bunch around us, Warren, Narrisa and their girls
( great CD!!!!).
The first night we ended up having a few trailers come together, and have a good old sing song with
a couple of guitars (and of course I sang very softly).  The next day we went to Halifax to the farmers market, boardwalk, lunch at Alexanders  Keith's Brewery. Peggy's Cove and lobster supper at the Surf Club.

Boardwalk in Halifax

This is some Art Work on the boardwalk and it is called "drunk and fell down" and it looks like street lamps that have melted in the sun.

Yes we did have a beer here with our lunch.

Swiss Air Monument

in 1998 a Swissair flight 111 Plane crashed just on the reef beside Peggy's Cove and everyone on board died.
There was smoke in the cockpit and they were coming from New York and were told to fly over Peggy's Cove to dump some fuel and never made it.  There is a huge monument before you get to Peggy's Cove and was interesting to stop and read about it.

We picked Shauna up at the Airport and the next day we were off to Shediac New Brunswick.
Andrew and Sara Mitton from Calgary have property near Parlee Beach just outside of Shediac and were kind enough to let us camp there for a few days.  Thank-you guys it was perfect and easy to find! LOL

Shauna standing among the wild lupins !!

Just chilling.  Then one day we drove to Saint Andrews which is on the Bay of Fundy and went whale watching.  We saw a Minke Whale, Harbour Seals, Bald Eagle and a Porpoise.  It was nice to get out on the water but there were not as many whales as there were on the St. Lawrence.

Harbour Seal watching us closely

It was a little chilly once you got out on open water so they supplied blankets for everyone who wanted one to cuddle in to keep warm.

On the water - beautiful

Found a covered bridge in New Brunswick - so cool!

There is this road call Magnetic Hill that when you go there it looks like you are driving to the bottom of a large hill, you then put your car/truck into neutral and take you feet off the brake and gas and just steer the car as it gets going up to 20 k.
It appears as if you are going up hill (when really you are going down) it is a optical illusion and it is darn right freaky.  Doug is still trying to figure it out as it seems so real!

This is the giant lobster in downtown Shediac
I must admit I have eaten a few of these so far :)

Now Andrew's dad is retired and he now is a "Bear Hunter Guide".  He came and picked us up and took us to his Bear Cabin where he has his own 6 hole golf course.  He is a wonderful and most friendly person you could ever meet, full of story after story.  Great day of enertainment.

this is the Bear Cabin

When a group of hunters come and want to go bow hunting, Grant makes them shot this stuffed bear from 30 yards out and they have to hit the red spot with their bow, if they can't hit the red spot then they do not get to go out hunting.

This bear was shot right by the bear cabin and was over 600 pounds!! Yikes!!

not my type of decor, but for a hunters cabin Perfect!!

This is a tree stand, where the hunters sit very still for hours until a bear comes, fun???

Heading to find the bear stand, hoping not to find the bear!

When you are "red neck" golfing you of course use quads as your golf carts!

there were no beer cart girls coming around LOL

Doug did not hit the bear !

Our mode of transportation - it was a very hot day at least plus 32!!

Sunset over Parlee Beach every night.  We are off to the Stan Rogers Folk Festival tomorrow at Canso Nova Scotia so until next week. Play safe
